The Honda Pilot is a versatile SUV that's designed to deliver years of reliable performance. To make sure it lasts for a long time, it's important to get maintenance to keep all your parts and systems working properly. So, how do you know when you're supposed to get maintenance.

To help drivers in Ithaca, Elmira, and Corning put a lot of miles on their SUV, Maguire Honda looks through the Honda Pilot maintenance schedule.

Every 7,500 Miles

The Honda Pilot should head into the shop for maintenance every 7,500 miles. During these trips to the service center, your SUV will get all the basics. A service technician will inspect your tires, then rotate them to make sure the tread wears evenly. They'll also keep your engine healthy by giving it an oil change.

Every 15,000 Miles

When you bring your SUV back for its 15,000-mile maintenance, you'll get all the same basic work done as before. Only this time, your Honda Pilot will get a new oil filter and have many of its most important systems checked.

Service technicians will give your vehicle a full inspection where they'll examine the suspension, exhaust system, driveshaft boots, tie rod ends, and fuel lines for any signs of wear and tear. They'll also take a thorough look at the brake system. This includes checking the parking brake, brake lines, and looking at the brake pads to see if they should be replaced.

In addition to looking over all these critical systems and changing your oil, they'll also check your coolant, transmission, and brake fluid levels.

Every 30,000 Miles

Whenever your Honda Pilot puts another 30,000 miles on the odometer, you'll bring it back in for all the same maintenance and inspections, plus a few more. After replacing your oil filter, a technician will also replace the air cleaner element and give your SUV a new set of spark plugs.

After they've inspected everything from the suspension and steering to the fuel and brake lines again, they'll also look at the drive belts and adjust them for you.

Every Three Years

Whether you drive an hour to work every day or take the bus and only drive on weekends, your Honda Pilot should get new brake fluid every three years. Since your brake fluid plays a big role in your SUV's ability to stop and slow down, it's important to change your brake fluid regularly, regardless of how many miles you've driven.
